PRIVACY
Discretion is part of every journey.
A clear account of the information we use, why we need it and the care with which it is handled.
How Pacific Classic Tours India (PCTI) handles personal information.
This policy applies to information handled by Pacific Classic Tours India (PCTI) through discoverydreams.com, by email, telephone or WhatsApp, and while planning or operating a journey. PCTI is responsible for deciding how that information is used for these purposes.
1. Information we collect
Depending on your enquiry or booking, we may collect:
- names, email addresses, telephone numbers, country of residence and preferred contact method;
- travel dates, interests, accommodation preferences, dietary needs, accessibility requests and other itinerary details;
- booking references, correspondence, invoices, payment status and transaction references;
- passport, visa, date-of-birth or similar details when a confirmed supplier requires them;
- information you choose to provide about health, mobility or dietary requirements; and
- basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and security logs when you use the website.
Please provide information about another traveller only when you are authorised to do so and they understand that it will be used to arrange the journey.
2. How and why we use it
We use personal information to answer enquiries, prepare tailored proposals, verify instructions, confirm and operate travel services, process and reconcile payments, provide journey updates, assist during travel, prevent misuse and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. We use information only for relevant purposes and request additional details when they become necessary for an arrangement.
Where our use depends on your consent, you may withdraw that consent for future use. This will not affect earlier processing, and some information may still be required to perform a booking or meet a legal obligation.
3. Sensitive travel details
Health, mobility, dietary, passport and visa information is requested only when relevant to safe and effective travel arrangements. Access is limited to those who need it. Please do not send unnecessary identity documents or card details through an ordinary enquiry form or unsecured message.
4. Suppliers and international sharing
To arrange a requested journey, relevant information may be shared with hotels, transport providers, airlines, rail and safari operators, guides, destination partners, payment providers, technology providers, professional advisers and public authorities where required. These recipients may be in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka or another country included in your itinerary. We share only what is reasonably needed for the service, booking or legal requirement.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
5. Payments
Online card payments are completed through the secure payment service linked from our Pay Online page. PCTI receives payment confirmation and transaction references needed for reconciliation, but the payment provider is responsible for the card information entered on its service. Its own privacy and security terms also apply.
6. Website storage, links and communications
The website may store a language preference in your browser and its hosting and security services may create routine technical logs. We also count page views, successful enquiries and WhatsApp clicks in anonymous daily totals. This measurement uses no tracking cookies and does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses or enquiry text. Links to payment, review, social-media, messaging or other external services are governed by those services’ privacy practices. We do not send promotional marketing merely because you submit a travel enquiry; any future marketing choice will be presented separately.
7. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as it is reasonably required for an enquiry, confirmed journey, traveller assistance, dispute resolution and applicable legal, tax or accounting records. Different records therefore have different retention periods. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Your requests and children’s information
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for access to or correction of your personal information, request erasure where it is no longer required, withdraw consent, or raise a concern about its use. We may need to verify your identity before acting and may retain information where the law or a live booking requires it.
We do not knowingly invite children to make independent enquiries. Information about a traveller under 18 should be provided by, or with the involvement of, a parent or legal guardian and only when needed for the journey.
9. Changes and privacy enquiries
We may revise this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The date above identifies the current version. For a privacy request or concern, email us with the subject “Privacy enquiry” or use the contact details below. We will review the matter and respond as appropriate under applicable law.
If we need a passport copy or other sensitive document for a confirmed service, ask us to confirm the appropriate delivery method first.
